Why LFP for motive power and storage
The manufacturer's product literature makes a consistent case. LFP offers superior thermal and chemical stability: phosphate-based cells are incombustible in the event of mishandling during charge or discharge, more stable under overcharge or short-circuit conditions, and able to withstand high temperatures without decomposing. The chemistry is cobalt-free and non-toxic, contains no heavy metals, and delivers long cycle life — over 7000 cycles on the wall-mounted storage series, at least 5000 on the container platform, and 2 to 3 times the cycle life of lead-acid in forklift duty.
The trade is energy density: an LFP pack is slightly larger than a high-density lithium-ion pack of the same energy. For a forklift — where battery weight is part of the machine's counterbalance — or a stationary storage system, that trade is usually free, and the safety and life advantages are bought at no operational cost.
The LiFePO4 range
- Forklift batteries — 24V to 80V Li-Power packs, including the lithium iron phosphate forklift battery datasheet carried on the lithium forklift battery page.
- Storage — 51.2V rack, wall and home systems, and the 512V container platform.
- Packs — LiFePO4 battery packs with built-in BMS for solar, RV, marine and home storage.
- Solar — dedicated LiFePO4 solar batteries from 12.8V units to 51.2V cabinets.
Reading an LFP datasheet
Four numbers decide an LFP product: nominal voltage (51.2V is the storage standard here, from a 16-cell series string), capacity in Ah and energy in kWh, depth of discharge (96% across the Li-W and Li-S storage lines), and cycle life at that depth. Each family's product page carries its full datasheet table, so comparisons happen on the manufacturer's own figures.
