48V Lithium Golf Cart Battery

A 48V lithium golf cart battery replaces the bank of lead-acid batteries under the seat with a single sealed LiFePO4 pack: lighter, faster to charge, and free of the watering and terminal-cleaning routine that dominates lead-acid cart maintenance. Golf carts sit inside the manufacturer's forklift battery family, which lists golf cart batteries alongside the traction range.

What changes on a 48V cart

The lithium benefits for this duty are consistent: a sealed pack with a built-in BMS instead of a bank of vented batteries, steady voltage through the round instead of the sag a lead-acid bank shows on the back nine, and fast charging during breaks, which the manufacturer's golf cart battery line lists among its features. The golf cart datasheet — the Li Power 73105, a 73.6V, 105 Ah, 7.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate unit — shows the protection set supplied for this duty: over-charge, over-discharge and over-temperature protection with an under-voltage alarm, plus RS485 and GPS communication. Weight drops sharply against a multi-battery lead-acid bank, which the cart feels in acceleration, hill work and tyre and brake wear.

Because the pack is sealed and maintenance-free — no watering, no acid, no corrosion — a fleet of rental or resort carts stops needing a battery-care rota, and a private cart stops needing a maintenance charger ritual between uses, helped by self-discharge of under 3% per month across the lithium line.

Conversion from lead-acid

The manufacturer's conversion position for golf carts is a turn-key replacement system that converts a cart from lead acid to a lithium battery pack in under one hour, using the same wiring as the current lead-acid setup. The 48V/72V golf cart battery programme is positioned as a drop-in replacement for the major cart platforms.

Ordering

Send the cart brand and model, confirm the 48V system voltage, and state whether a charger is needed with the pack. The quote specifies the pack and, where required, the matched charger. Minimum order quantities and lead times are confirmed on quotation.

Fleet and resort carts

For courses, resorts and rental fleets the conversion case is operational: a cart that charges during breaks is a cart that returns to service between rounds, and a pack with no watering or terminal care removes a recurring labour rota across the whole fleet. The drop-in replacement programme for 48V/72V carts is aimed at the major cart platforms — the golf cart listing names Club Car and EZGO — so mixed fleets can run one conversion programme across brands. Send the fleet size and cart models for a conversion programme quote, including the charger decision for each cart type.

The pack's built-in BMS supervises charging and discharging continuously, protecting against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current and short circuit, so the converted cart needs no battery supervision from its operator beyond plugging in the charger.
